Honestly for the price it’s nice display is nice vibration motor is nice to, coming from someone who’s always had high end Samsungs this thing isn’t bad,I do notice how much slower it is in doing anything tho downloading apps opening another page anything is slower but can’t really complain it is a $200 phone gets the job done (update)phone is so slow its aggravating only had it 4 days and already tired of the laggyness definitely going to end up buying something else soon)

For $165 I honestly don’t know how you could beat the value. The screen is beautiful, the 5000 ma/h battery lasts forever and the performance is more than adequate for most people. Sure it isn’t gonna run games like a S series Galaxy, but it costs only a fraction of what they do. I bought it as a work phone for my small business and am extremely impressed. I popped in my Verizon sim card and it works flawlessly. The battery meter is a little hard to read but that is part of Samsung’s software on all Galaxies running the newest OneUI version and no fault of the phone. The 50mp camera is insanely good and the built in Google circle to search is super handy. This purchase was a home run and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

GREAT Value; Works Well; Dependable
This phone certainly is an outstanding value. Today, companies hype you with devices for well over $1,000.00. I have been buying inexpensive phones like this for YEARS, and have saved great deals of money while staying in my budget and enjoying the full benefits of modern mobile phones. The display and sound quality are excellent; it is durable and withstands daily wear (that is, with the usual added benefits of an appropriate case and/or holster); it captures the signals from the cellular network very well and has great connectivity; accessories such as screen protectors, USB C cables, and power adapters are very plentiful (one thing that would cause me to immediately reject considering a phone is when the manufacturer designs their devices to require proprietary accessories), the charging time is very good; and, again, it is an overall, excellent value. Definitely deserving of 5-Stars.

Insane value and quality if you are smart
What you need to know, tbis phone 1000% has eSIM no matter what google says. It has 1 nano sim port and 1 micro sd slot, the dual sim is the eSIM capability.Despite what other reviews say, if you remove the bloatware you are forced to download. And block unecessary back ground processing apps, and close all your unecessary tabs and apps… like a normal person… this phone feels fast and snappy… now if you are switching from a premium galaxy to this budget galaxy you are obviouslh downgrading and it doesnt at all make sense to scream about the obvious.This budget phone is premium of budget phones. Im not experiencing lag in the sligbtest bitColor is accurate, the feel is lightweight but quality. Battery life is good. Sound quality is good. Durable cases are very cheap for tbis phone. And it is truly unlocked.Deducted 1 star for having to spend 2 hours doing updates.

great performance and value
I thought about waiting for the A17 since it has been released outside the US but then I read that its basically the exact same chips this year so I opted for the $165 sale here. I use it on mint and came from the A13 5G. I’ll say it is very good, I like that we moved back to flat edges, it kept the same features I was used to and all the great things about the A series (big battery/runtime and value)I use social media apps, email, meeting apps, gps, nfc wallet, and AI chatbots. It is a bit faster than my previous phone and no complaints for speed. I put a plastic/rubber clear case on it and a screen protector just for a few bucks off amazon haul. I could see this easily lasting me 4 years. I was worried about 4GB ram but I’m usually just around 2.5GB used with these apps and the memory compression RAM Plus (I set it to 2GB, half the real ram)

Good phone for the $
over the past few years I have had two cell phones and I bought one a while back but I wound up giving it to someone as a gift and I bought this one as a replacement but I wasn’t happy with it so I returned it and I’m going to upgrade to an A-36. however this is a good 1st time entry phone for someone in their teens. I am a senior, 74 years young 🙋

Dual sim and satellite ready
I recently switched to the Galaxy A16 5G, and I’m impressed with its sleek design and practical features. Transferring my data from my previous Galaxy device was quick and seamless, and I appreciated the option to easily convert a physical SIM to an eSIM during the setup process. I also value that the phone supports both eSIM and physical SIM cards, along with satellite texting for added reliability.Since I rely on my phone for work, I often run about six apps simultaneously—clocking in and out, writing reports, and managing tasks. While the device handles this workload, I’ve noticed some performance lags. For example, there can be a delay when switching between apps or even when typing within one, where the text takes a moment to catch up.Battery life could also be stronger. Starting from a full charge at 7:00 AM, my phone was already down to 74% by 9:42 AM during active use. This may be expected with heavy multitasking, but it’s worth noting for anyone who depends on their phone throughout the day.Overall, the Galaxy A16 5G delivers solid features, reliable connectivity options, and a smooth transfer experience, though users who need heavy multitasking may experience some lag and faster battery drain.

I wasn’t expecting much for the cost. Doesn’t have screen record. Camera is alright. Runs kinda slow at times. But, Sound is great. Screen quality is great. It seems sturdy and has some of newer features like reacting to texts, updated emojis. I needed a new phone and it does the job.

Great hardware held back by bloated software
I was looking for a secondary phone that I could dedicate specifically to work (email, number, apps, etc). In the past I’ve had plenty of low budget phones that did a great job with this (particularly the Motorola G series) but I wanted to give Samsung a try since the price to specs ratio was really good.The hardware itself is really good at this price. For $175, I got a phone with a good battery, decent camera, good screen, and a solid processor to keep most apps running well.Unfortunately, the whole Samsung suite of tools slows the phone down to a crawl if they decide to automatically run or update in the background. I hate this future of forced updates, and while it IS possible to disable “most” updates, some will still happen automatically around the Samsung suite of tools.Things like Samsung cloud, Smart things, Switch, Sync, and many more are constantly running for no reason, and attempting to interact with any will push you to create a silly Samsung account to manage their behavior. The One UI thing is extremely pushy with updates, with their overlay prompting me to update in the middle of typing an email or doing anything else.I don’t know how we’ve fallen off so badly when it comes to UX design… at some point companies decided that their needs come first, and if there’s any leftover time and budget, the user experience gets some consideration.Overall, the phone is a good piece of hardware, but the software is extremely annoying, pushy, laggy, and broken in many ways I highly recommend de-bloating the device by removing as much unnecessary crap as you possibly can, then the phone becomes much more usable.

A little sluggish with some applications, but an overall good phone for the price point.
I would say that the phone is okay, so far. The charging speed is about what you would expect and the touch screen is really responsive. If you’re wondering if it runs hot in a lot of different situations, I can tell you that it does. It also mentioned having 4 GB of ram, while technically true, this isn’t fully accurate. It has 2 GB of physical ram and 2GB of vertial ram and that makes a huge difference in its’ performance.This is particularly evident when you open the camera app. For comaprison, an S3 that I used way back in the day did not lag when going in and out of the camera application, but this phone does. Of course, this is to be expected, given the amount of ram that it has, but you would think that it would be better oprimized as a result. It is truly unlocked, just as it says. All I had to do was pop in my sim card from Verizon and I was up and running again. No phone call, no visiting the website, no putting in a code. So, I image it would work the same for every carrier.Now lets talk about the finger print reader, in some ways I like where it is positioned, in other ways I don’t. We all tend to choose a finger or a finger print reader that feels confortable to use and not combersome. There are a ton of options to achieve this when the finger print reader is on the bottom bezel or on the phone screen itself, not so much when its’ the same button as your power button. This causes you to do accidental unlocks at times if you aren’t careful. but I believe that it will just take some getting used to.The call quality is actually really good and the camera isn’t to bad. Don’t expect any Earth shattering detail like you would get from the S20 or something similar. The stabalizers leaves a lot to be desired, but the video quality is actually pretty impressive for the price point. The flashlight on the other hand is a different story. It’s not really useful in tight spaces or when you need light in a specific direction. It will do the job in a pinch, but don’t expect it to do what other phones can in that department.The battery life seems to be good and pretty close to what Samsung claims. Set your battery to only charge to eighty percent and don’t use super fast charging when you can to improve the life of your battery overtime. According to Samsung this phone is slated to get years of security updates and OS updates, which is why i purchased it. It didn’t need to be fancy, as its’ mostly used for phone calls and text, but you’ll get more out of it than that to be sure.On to the screen. It is honestly impressive and has done well in every lighting condition that I have subjected it to. It does scratch easy, so make sure you get a screen protector as soon as possible to prevent that from happening.Some good points are the fact that the charging port is a bit receeded, a good choice by Samsung that saves you from having to clean stray lint out of it all the time. The phone itself does run off of the new fleet of Samsung chargers, so if you have an old Samsung product and charger from the last couple years, you’ll be good to go.Overall it does the job and runs fairly well for the price point. It really needs at least four gigs of virtual memory to help it along, but you can’t expect much more at the price point. It will be a reliable phone that will do what you need it to and a bit more. It has a better screen than most phones at this price point and it has the Samsung security and OS updates that run for years that other manufactures don’t offer.
